SPIRIT GIFTS
|
The fruits of the Spirit are the greatest
gifts we can demonstrate between one another. They are of more value
than the sought after Holy Spirit Gifts of healing and speaking in
tongues. For they represent the spiritual characteristics of God;
manifestation of these gifts brings us closer to God. In fact they make
us one with God and true children of God.
Galatians 5:22 & 23 "But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, 1 Corinthians 13:1
- 8 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not
love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I
have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all
knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove
mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my
goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have
not love, it profiteth me nothing.
Love suffereth long, and is kind;
love envieth not;
love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not
behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; |

2 Peter 1:5 - 8 "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue (goodness) knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience (longsuffering); and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness (gentleness & meekness); and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." |

Colossians 1:5 - 15 "For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:" |

"According to His glorious
power"
- The working or possession of the Holy Spirit
is not evident or displayed by miraculous miracles in today's society.
Those things will not prepare you for the glorious inheritance of the
saints. It is the fruit of the Spirit as specified in the scripture
above that will place you with the lambs on the right hand side of
Christ when he returns to set up his kingdom.
These are the things Christ will look for
in those who claim to be in Christ, the greatest of these being love. 1
Corinthians 13:13 "And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but
the greatest of these is love." |
